Bridging Open Work Permit

The Bridging Open Work Permit (BOWP) permits a worker to stay in Canada while Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada reviews his or her permanent residence application. (IRCC).
The bridging open work permit (BOWP) permits a person to continue working in Canada while his or her application for permanent residency is being processed.
In-Canada candidates who have filed for permanent residence through one of the authorized economic immigration programs may be considered for a bridging open work permit if their valid work permit is set to expire within four months.
A foreign worker who is lawfully working in Canada and has filed for permanent residence under one of the following economic immigration categories may continue to work until his or her permanent residence application is approved:

Federal Skilled Worker Program
Agri-Food Pilot Program
Federal Skilled Trades Program
Canadian Experience Class
Provincial Nominee Program
Home Child-Care Provider Pilot or Home Support Worker Pilot
