Open Work Permits for Essential Workers and International Graduates

Essential employees and overseas graduates can now apply and submit applications to Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada for open work permits.
Individuals who have filed for PR (Permanent Residency) using Canada’s newly expanded pathway may also apply for an open work permit as of July 26, 2021.
The IRCC created a pathway in May this year that will allow around 90,000 critical employees and international graduates in the country to get permanent residency. In addition, the IRCC is currently issuing open work permits for essential employees and foreign graduates, allowing them to work for any company in the country of their choosing Here are some important information for this type of open work permit:

Submission through the internet
This policy also allows the spouse or common law partner, as well as dependent children aged 18 and older, to apply for an open work visa.
Until December 31, 2022, work permits will only be provided to overseas students and essential workers.
