Immigration Pathways For Hong Kong Residents
Canada recently added 2 new pathways to permanent residency for residents of Hong Kong who have worked or studied in Canada.


Stream A
They are the following:
The first stream is accessible to former Hong Kong residents who graduated from a post-secondary learning institution in Canada within the past three years.
Please bear in mind that even if part of the classes were taken online, the candidate must have completed at least 50% of the program while physically present in Canada.Here are some other things that the candidate needs:
- Candidates must have graduated with a degree
- Candidates must have a diploma
- Candidates must be a graduate or post-graduate credential from a post-secondary learning institution in Canada in the last 3 years
- Candidates must meet the language requirements in English or French
- Candidates must have a valid temporary resident status in Canada
- Please do note that these are just some of the many requirements for this stream
Stream B:
Former Hong Kong citizens who have graduated from a post-secondary learning institution in Canada or overseas are eligible for the second stream. They must also have at least one year of job experience in Canada.Here are some other things that are required:
- Candidates must have a degree
- Candidates must have a diploma
- Candidates must have graduated from a post-secondary learning institution in or abroad within the last 5 years
- Candidates must have at least 1 year of work experience in Canada in the last 3 years
- Candidates must meet the language requirements in English
- Candidates must have a valid temporary resident status in Canada


Open Work Permit For Hong Kong Graduates
